Grammy 2024: Skin-baring gowns, metallics dominate the red carpet

The Grammy Awards 2024 was a celebration of the biggest names in music, but just as anticipated are the celebrities’ glamorous and er, charming, ensembles on the red carpet.

This year’s edition of the prestigious awards ceremony red carpet was all about razzle-dazzle as metallics, skin-baring, and bold monochromatic ensembles were the overarching looks of the stars.

Here are some of the standout looks of music’s biggest night which was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 4 (morning of Feb. 5 in the Philippines):

Taylor Swift

What was initially thought to be an announcement of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” turned out to be Taylor Swift’s prelude to her upcoming album “The Tortured Poets Department,” as the singer-songwriter looked like royalty in her bold yet elegant red carpet look.

Swift looked glamorous in her white Schiaparelli corset gown which was accessorized with black and white diamond jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz, and black evening gloves. But perhaps the most eye-catching of her ensemble was the black-strapped timepiece worn as a choker, also from Lorraine Schwartz.

Miley Cyrus

All eyes were on two-time Grammy winner Miley Cyrus as she came in like a golden wrecking ball in her skin-baring gold pin ensemble by Maison Margiela. The sexy ensemble signaled the pop star’s ability to be fiercely unapologetic about her choices, especially when it comes to her image.

The singer-songwriter then changed into a shimmery black halter gown which hugged all her curves.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa was ready to dance the night away in her all-silver Courrèges gown with a plunging neckline and hip cut-outs. The ensemble, which is an eye-catching contrast to her red tresses, finished with a scorpion-like gemstone-encrusted necklace.

Janelle Monae

One of the standouts on the Grammys red carpet was Janelle Monae in her black sequined gown with a plunging neckline. But one of the eye-catching elements of her gown was the black flower perched on her upper waist which gave the gown its needed pop.

Olivia Rodrigo

Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo took a break from her signature purple outfits as she went for a vintage Barbie-esque route on the red carpet in her white archival Versace gown.

Victoria Monet

Victoria Monet was a vision of Barbie in her copper corset gown complete with the coveted Bvlgari Serpenti necklace.

Ice Spice

Ice Spice paid tribute to her Bronx roots while staying fashionably on trend with her fur-lined denim outfit, complete with a matching maxi skirt and gold-plated belt.

Doja Cat

Another skin-baring stunner of the night was Doja Cat in her sheer corset gown embellished with tulle. The gown showed off the “Say So” singer’s tattoos, almost like sketches done on crumpled tissue paper.

Billie Eilish

Award-winning singer Billie Eilish expressed her love for the hit 2023 film “Barbie” by donning a Barbie-themed varsity jacket on the red carpet. The look was completed with black trousers and black platform shoes.

Also spotted on the red carpet were Ed Sheeran, Chloe Bailey, Paris Hilton, Jo Batiste, Lenny Kravitz, Halley Bailey, John Legend, Laufey, Coco Jones, Gracie Abrams, boygenius, and Kelly Clarkson.
