Toni Gonzaga, who was accompanied by her castmates in her upcoming film “My Sassy Girl,” reunited with her former “Eat Bulaga” co-hosts Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon not as a host, but as a contestant on one of its segments.

On the Jan. 27 episode of the noontime show, Gonzaga, along with Pepe Herrera, Abbi Garcia, Shiela Villega, and Cecil Paz put their wits to the test in the “Gimme 5” segment of the TV5 noontime show.

“Hello, mga Dabarkads! It’s good to see you again,” she said. “‘Yung sa ‘My Sassy Girl,’ kineep namin ang original elements ng magic ng pelikula. Naging faithful kami sa original pero maliit na tweaks ang aming ginawa para maging Pinoy version.”

(Hello, mga Dabarkads! It’s good to see you again. In “My Sassy Girl,” we kept the original elements of the magic of the film. We were faithful to the original edition but we did small tweaks so it can be faithful to the Pinoy version.)

Gonzaga appeared to still be on good terms with Sotto and de Leon, as the veteran hosts were laughing at the actress-host’s competitive side towards her “My Sassy Girl” leading man during the game.

Gonzaga previously reunited with the veteran hosts in the noontime show — when it was under GMA Network’s roof — to promote the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 film “My Teacher” which also starred de Leon.

Gonzaga was cast as the lead star of “My Sassy Girl” which is an adaptation of the hit 2001 movie of the same name. The original material stars Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun, and is one of the biggest films in South Korea.

As a testament to its popularity, the hit movie gave birth to several adaptations including the Philippines, US, and China, just to name a few. The Filipino edition will hit theaters on Jan. 31.

Janno Gibbs, who also hosted “Eat Bulaga” in the past, also appeared on the TV5 show to promote “Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko,” his movie with his late father Ronaldo Valdez. The movie was Gibbs’ directorial debut.
