Kris Aquino asks late mom Cory for courage, admits: ‘It’s getting more difficult to stay strong’

Kris Aquino was not able to join her sons Josh and Bimby in celebrating the birthday of her late mother, former President Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco-Aquino, in Disneyland as she has been suffering from “a bad flare and very clogged sinus passages.”
“It’s a new tradition that we celebrate their Lola Cory’s birthday in Disneyland. I was still strong enough to join them last year,” the Queen of All Media said on her Instagram Stories on Friday, Jan. 26, thanking one Merci Cania Gonzales for accompanying her sons.
“Unfortunately, I’m suffering from a bad flare and very clogged sinus passages,” she added, showing a photo of her face suffering from a flare-up.
Speaking about Cory, Kris wrote, “Even after nearly 15 years, any child who has lost their mom will agree, we still miss them so much.”
Kris further credited her mom’s courage for inspiring her to keep going despite her several autoimmune diseases.
Article continues after this advertisement“I keep going because I saw how much my mom endured: through all her procedures, chemotherapy, radiation, etc., because she felt her kids weren’t ready and needed time to accept that she’d no longer be around,” Kris said.
Article continues after this advertisement“Mom, may I have even just 20 percent of your courage [and] ability to surrender to God’s will? It’s getting more difficult to stay strong…,” she addressed the late president, who died in August 2009 after battling cancer.

Kris and her sons are currently staying in the United States for her medical tests and treatments. In an earlier post, Kris disclosed that her youngest son Bimby might return to the Philippines to work to help pay for her medical bills.
