Sarah Lahbati on relationship status with Richard Gutierrez: ‘We’re okay’

Sarah Lahbati broke her silence on the current status of her relationship with husband Richard Gutierrez, saying they are okay while noting that she is also focused on working on herself.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan PH, the actress said, when asked about the situation between her and Gutierrez, that she was “happy and grateful.”
“We’re okay,” she said. “I’m holding up pretty well. I’m happy. Again, I’m grateful. There’s nothing more to say than I’m really feeling blessed. And it’s a good time to just work on myself.”
The two have been in the public eye after rumors surfaced that they have separated, with Gutierrez’s mother, Annabelle Rama, first revealing that his son was living with him and taking a swipe at Lahbati’s attitude toward spending.
The “Starstruck” alumna also weighed in on the prejudice that women or mothers face concerning their wish to indulge themselves using their money, emphasizing that women don’t have to explain the way they treat themselves.
“I think when you work hard for your own money, you don’t owe anyone any explanation. You work so hard to do what? To explain yourself? No. If you have a job and you work so hard, then you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. Just do your thing, whatever it is that you want to do,” she affirmed.
Lahbati’s mother disclosed in December 2023 that her daughter and Gutierrez are currently co-parenting their two sons, Zion and Kai. The couple also recently unfollowed each other on Instagram and the actress also shared the current construction of her new home.
Despite not officially confirming their split, Lahbati’s statement seemingly attests that she and Gutierrez are handling things on good terms as she takes a step toward healing as well. The two have been spotted spending time with their children as often as they can separately.
