Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes’ ‘Rewind’ now the highest-grossing film in PH domestic sales
Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie “Rewind,” which stars celebrity couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, has become the highest-grossing film in Philippine domestic sales with a total of P815 million earnings as of Wednesday, Jan. 17.
The film exceeded the P691-million local box office record made by the 2019 movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” although “Rewind”—which has a worldwide total gross of P845 million so far—has yet to surpass the latter’s P880 million worldwide gross.
“In Philippine domestic sales, ‘Rewind’ IS NOW THE HIGHEST-GROSSING FILIPINO FILM OF ALL TIME!” Star Cinema said on its Instagram page on Wednesday night. “And as of 3 p.m. today, the worldwide total gross of ‘Rewind’ is PHP 845 million.”
It added that the romance-drama film is still showing in over 300 cinemas in the Philippines, US, Canada, Guam, Saipan and Singapore.

Star Cinema and the “Rewind” cast held a thanksgiving Mass and a party to celebrate the milestone, as seen on Rivera and Dantes’ Instagram Stories.
“Rewind” was among the 10 film entries for the 2023 MMFF. The film fest was initially scheduled to run from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7, but was extended until Jan. 14 to heed “numerous calls and requests on social media.”
The 2023 MMFF crossed the P1-billion mark in total box-office sales on Jan. 7.
