Primetime queen and king Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are set to make their comeback on the big screen after 13 years as they reunited for the movie “Rewind,” one of the official entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
As the first day of the MMFF draws near, the real-life couple shared with INQUIRER.net during the Parade of Stars last December 16 that they hope their film entry’s impact will serve as a gift to the viewers.
Dingdong emphasized how the MMFF brings people together and hopes that their movie “Rewind” will bring inspiration and joy to families when they watch it together.
“Aside from providing quality entertainment, syempre it’s also a platform to bring people together, bring families together, for families to talk about mga ganitong klaseng kwento papaano ba sila nainspire, and hopefully kahit papaano makapagbigay saya kami sa panahon na ito,” he said.
The actor affirmed that their film entry is suitable for people to watch this holiday season, as they aim to provide a memorable experience for the viewers.
“Sa tingin ko, ito ‘yung perfect na panoorin sa Christmas season na ito because I think sating lahat we wanna make this the most memorable and most meaningful Christmas dahil alam naman natin nangyari in the past and there’s no other time to do it but now kasi hindi na natin marerewind,” stated Dingdong.

The award-winning actress also weighed in on the pandemic that halted holding big festivals like the MMFF and huge gatherings like the Parade of Stars, making her glad as people slowly went back to celebrating annual events.
“Alam mo nakakatuwa kasi compared to last year, syempre alam natin may pinagdaanan ang mga Filipino, may pandemya, so ngayon nakakatuwang makita ‘yan sa labas na parang bumabalik na ulit sila,” shared Marian.
MMFF will run from December 25 to January 7, 2024, in more than 100 cinemas nationwide, with “Rewind” and nine other movie entries to choose from.
