Janine Gutierrez says ‘no’ to beauty pageants
Janine Gutierrez reiterated her disinterest in joining beauty pageants, saying her heart is not just attached to doing them.
During a skin care event on Friday, Jan. 12, the “Dirty Linen” star gave a direct “no” to the possibility of joining any beauty contest, despite attempts of other people to lure her into the competition.
“No talaga, I’m so flattered, honestly, every time I get comments like ‘Uy, sumali ka na’ pero wala kasi talaga siya sa puso ko. Ang pangarap ko talaga is to represent the country through movies and series,” she said.
Gutierrez, who’s a stellar beauty in her own right, also offered advice to people, especially women who want to start improving themselves through the use of skin care products, which can be costly sometimes.
“Ang natutunan ko rin recently sobrang importante na magresearch, like reading up on the products before you buy them. Magbasa ka ng mga reviews; talk to your friends about it. Magcompare kayo ng skin care or kung gusto mo try ka muna kung ano meron sa kaibigan mo,” said the actress.

“I feel like we should also find ways to romanticize life. Minsan kasi diba parang nakaka-overwhelm na trabaho lang tapos bahay. I think we need to find joy in the little things,” commented Gutierrez.
“Like pag order ng paborito mong kape or paborito mong milktea or just take time to look at the sky or look at the stars, parang small thing like that, I think nakakatulong rin sa general happiness natin or mental health natin, which is so important,” she added.
