Rica Peralejo reacts after netizen bashed her for supporting third gender
Rica Peralejo responded to a netizen’s negative remark about her stand on the “third gender,” saying people of that gender deserve to exist and canceling them out “is not one of the Lord’s traits.”
On the former actress’ Instagram page, a netizen called her out for liking “gay” pages, saying they were dismayed by Peralejo’s preferences.
“Sorry, Ms. Rica, pero [diba] asawa kayo ng pastor? Bakit niyo sinusupport ang ganitong page about [kabaklaan]. So pati mga 3rd gender allowed na rin mag-exist? Sorry, pero nakakaturn-off lang, Ms. Rica,” wrote the netizen.
The singer-host countered the comment by saying that the feeling is mutual and that she was also disheartened by the netizen’s belief that the third gender should not exist.
“Bakit naman hindi sila pwede mag-exist, nakakatawa nga mga post nila at nakakatuwa na balikan ang nakaraan. If it is about the third gender, grabe ka naman. Kailangan mamatay basta hindi pumasok na two genders mo, ganon ba? MU tayo. Turned off din ako sayo,” she said.

The retired celebrity urged the netizen to read the Bible himself to understand that it is not one of the Creator’s traits to dismiss the life of another human being, as humans only do this by tainting their own beliefs.
“Basahin mo din ulit to read truth and love. No one is forcing you to believe what should or should not be, but canceling? Is not one of the Lord’s traits. Only humans do this, unfortunately. No wonder people don’t like our faith. They don’t want our Jesus. ‘Cause akala nila Jesus is like us,” affirmed the actress.

Peralejo addressed the exchanges between her and the netizen in a series of Instagram stories, explaining the need to explain her side of the story as she will not tolerate a mindset that “disqualifies the existence of another.”
“My comment is making the rounds again. I saw some comments, and someone said it’s sad I stooped down to that level. I could not have answered. Or have been safer with my reply. But the human and Christian in me cannot be settled about a mindset that disqualifies the existence of another,” she said.
“Nashock lang talaga ako sa use of the word niya na exist. You basically implied their eradication if they should not change. It’s so far from how God is,” added the ex-actress.
Peralejo encouraged her co-believers to be more open-minded about their beliefs, saying faith is only secondary in the grand scheme of things and their Creator should come first and foremost.
“Sa mga kapwa kong believers, sana magising na tayo. Once akong naging ganyan. Feeling ko matter right or wrong ang faith to the point na nakakalimutan ko, it’s a matter of Jesus and Jesus alone,” she remarked.
