Miles Ocampo admitted that she’s still reeling from her Best Supporting Actress win at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 Gabi ng Parangal, saying her recent milestone is a culmination of her “love-hate cycle” in her acting career.

On her Instagram account on Friday, Dec. 29, Ocampo recalled her early beginnings as an actress at the age of 6, where her “love for [the] craft” grew despite its ups and downs.

“I started when I was 6 years old and my love for my craft grew along the way,” she wrote. “There are days when you’re inspired, days when you feel like nothing’s happening, then you’ll feel inspired again at gusto mo lang gumawa at gumawa ng pelikula (and you just want to make more and more films), then you’ll question yourself kung kaya ba at kaya pa ba (if it’s possible and if you can do it)?”

Ocampo said being an actress is a “love-hate cycle,” but she nonetheless remains firm that it is what she wants to do.

“It’s a love-hate cycle but at the end of the day, I know what I want and I have so much love for what I do. Darating sa point na (You will reach a point that) you’ll just stop overthinking and all you wanna do is do your best no matter what. 101%. Talon (Jump). Always,” she said.

The actress then thanked the Lord for her Best Supporting Actress award, which she noted is a “Christmas gift” from the MMFF committee, while dedicating her win to her “Family of Two” co-stars.

“Mahigpit na yakap. Sa lahat po ng sumuporta sa lahat ng entries ngayong taon, maraming salamat sa inyo. At para po ito sa hanggang ngayon ay naniniwala at nagtitiwala pa din po sa akin. Lagi’t lagi pong pagbubutihan. Pangako,” she wrote. (Tight hugs. To those who supported this year’s entries, thank you very much. This is for those who still believe and trust in me. I will always do my best. I promise.)

Fellow celebrities Nikki Valdez, Kakai Bautista, Lara Quigaman, Aga Muhlach, and the official joint Instagram account of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon congratulated Ocampo on her recent milestone.

The actress, who emerged as a breakout star in 2023, starred as Czarina in the MMFF entry “Family of Two,” the girlfriend of Mateo (Alden Richards) who is planning to move to Singapore.
