‘Firefly,’ ‘GomBurZa’ dominate MMFF 2023 ‘Gabi ng Parangal’

It was an unforgettable night for the cast and crew of “Firefly” as it emerged as Best Picture of the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal on Dec. 27, while “GomBurZa” bagged the most awards with a total of seven.
Held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, the MMFF committee recognized the best among the 10 competing film entries. Cedrick Juan and Vilma Santos after winning Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.
Receiving the Marichu Vera-Perez Maceda Memorial award for her contributions to the local entertainment industry was Mother Lily Monteverde.
