Lisa of Blackpink surprised her fans on Christmas Day when she released a cover of Britney Spears’ song “My Only Wish (This Year)” on her personal Youtube account.
“Christmas presents for my BLINKS. Have a wonderful holiday,” wrote Lisa on her Instagram with a stunning photo of her cover song.
Spears’ “My Only Wish” is regarded as a holiday classic, with many known singers covering the song. 20 years after its release, it entered Spotify’s Global 50 for the first time at number 29. With Lisa’s cover, it’s undeniable that the song will receive more recognition.
Lisa’s rendition showed the charming city of Paris, which features the K-pop star’s distinct vocal appeal—all good for the festive spirit. Fans are delighted by the Blackpink member’s cover, noting that it is a great tribute to Spears’ holiday treat.

Lisa is the second member to drop a holiday song this season; the first was Jennie, who also surprised the fans with a cover of Sia’s Snowman. Both covers immediately trended on X.
As of this writing, Lisa’s holiday song had received 500,000 views three hours after its release. Jennie’s cover reached 3.2 million views one day after it was uploaded on YouTube.
In early December, all members of the K-pop sensation Blackpink —Rose, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa—renewed their contract with YG Entertainment after rumors that the girl group would part ways with them following their contract’s expiration in August.
As of now, as the group comeback awaits, the four girls are currently focusing on their solo endeavors. Lisa is set to perform solo at an esteemed charity event in Paris. Jennie’s latest solo project is the establishment of her personal label company.
