Annabelle Rama finally ended her 25-year long rift with Cristy Fermin, as the former thanked the showbiz columnist for coming to her defense, amid the celebrity mom’s recent statements on son Richard Gutierrez’s marriage with Sarah Lahbati.

Rama narrated via her Facebook page how she reached out to Fermin after being informed that the latter gave her two cents on the couple’s breakup rumors, favoring the Gutierrez matriarch.

“Maraming text ako natanggap at mga missed calls from my friends na tunay na nakakakilala at nagmamahal sa akin. At sabi nila ay may maganda daw silang nabasa sa Facebook na sinulat ng number one kong kalaban at pinagtatanggol ako this time,” Rama said, adding how she was initially suspicious if it was indeed Fermin who defended her.

(I received texts and missed calls from friends who love me and know me well. They said they read a post on Facebook written by my number one enemy, but this time she is defending me.)

“Pinacheck ko sa PR ng Gutierrez family at na-confirm nga niya na legit iyon account at siya nga mismo ang sumulat,” she added. (I had the Gutierrez family’s PR check the post and it was confirmed that the account is legitimate and [Cristy] indeed wrote the post.)

It was not immediately clear which post Rama was referring to, although it can be noted that Fermin recently spoke about Richard and Lahbati’s split speculations and Rama’s statements about it.

“Wala pong magulang talaga na papayag na ang kanyang anak ay kawawain lalo na kung alam niya ang totoong kwento,” Fermin spoke of Rama via her vlog “Cristy Ferminute.”

Rama then recalled clashing with Fermin about 25 years ago over matters involving the former’s daughter Ruffa Gutierrez, and in 2022 over the columnist’s apparent tirades against Rama’s close friends, Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee.

“This time lumambot ang puso ko sa kanya, dahil nanay rin siya at may mga anak rin at alam niya na tama ang ginagawa ko sa pagkampi ko sa anak ko, kaya niya ako naintindihan,” Rama stated.

(This time, my heart softened for her. She’s also a mother and she knows that I am doing the right thing by taking the side of my child. She understands where I’m coming from.)

Rama further disclosed that she called Cristy through the phone and that the latter also talked to the Gutierrez patriarch, Eddie. Rama also belied rumors that Eddie is ailing from a health condition, which was apparently caused by the rumors hounding Richard and Lahbati.

“I am sorry kung ano mang di magandang mga text na nasabi ko sa iyo,” Rama addressed Fermin. “Cristy, salamat sa maganda mong sinulat sa akin. Merry Christmas and Peace Be With You.”

(Sorry for the unpleasant messages I sent you. Cristy, thank you for writing good words about me. Merry Christmas and peace be with you.)

Rama earlier revealed that Richard has been staying in her house, but she did not immediately confirm if the actor has indeed parted ways with Lahbati. In a succeeding statement, Rama slammed rumormongers who apparently accused her of being the reason behind Richard’s falling-out with Lahbati.

Both Richard and Lahbati have yet to confirm or deny the split speculation as of this writing.
