Breathtaking visuals and glamorous outfits took center stage at the red carpet of the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) 2023 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan last Dec. 14, where over 50 stars graced the event, much to the delight of their dedicated fans.

There was no theme at the red carpet, so the Korean, Filipino, and other Asian celebrities had the freedom to choose the kind of looks they wanted to showcase to their fans. And of course, the stars didn’t disappoint in their elegant dresses, fitted suits, as well as varying cuts and textures which displayed their unique charms.

Take a look at our 10 favorite looks on the red carpet.

1. SB19

The standout of the red carpet has got to be SB19 — with Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin making a commanding statement in their bespoke barong-inspired suits by Francis Libiran. The black-and-white ensembles, as well as the use of piña fabric and intricate black beadwork, is a unique take on the usual suit, with each complimenting the members in their own way.

The highlight of Ken’s suit is the layered style, with its v-neck collar and a silver Bvlgari necklace with a net-like pattern to finish, while Josh and Stell’s ensembles were the asymmetrical piña sleeves adorned with the intricate black pattern.

On the other hand, the pièce de résistance of Justin’s outfit is the turtleneck collar with the intricate beadwork along the torso. Pablo, meanwhile, opted for a suit with a layered look, with the black side resembling a coat, while the patterned piña acted as an embellishment.

2. LE SSERAFIM

Taking on a more feminine approach to their “I’m Fearless” brand, the members of LE SSERAFIM showed up on the red carpet in gray and white school girl-inspired ensembles. The Source Music female quintet is usually known for showing up as femme fatales onstage or in photoshoots, so these outfits are the girl group proving they can look “fearless” in anything.

Yunjin opted for an A-line mini dress with a big Peter Pan collar which was accessorized with a black ribbon on her head, while Chaewon donned a sleeveless dress with a more open-faced collar.

Meanwhile, Kazuha wore a cropped white blouse with huge puffy sleeves and a gray mini skirt. Sakura, on the other hand, allowed her wavy, bluish gray tresses to take center stage in her form fitting two-piece gray mini dress. The youngest member Eunchae chose to cover herself with a long-sleeved top with a Peter Pan collar and gray miniskirt.

3. ZEROBASEONE

Despite the absence of Ricky, ZEROBASEONE looked dapper as ever in their clean-cut and coordinated black suits, with members having touches of red either in their sleeves, collars, pants, or along the bodice of their suits. The look is a seeming switch-up from their flower boy images, but it’s a welcome and handsome change regardless.

4. Kim Sejeong

All eyes were on Kim Sejeong who looked every inch a movie star in her silk, halter gown, and was completed with the singer-actress wearing a low ponytail. While the ensemble looks white on photos and videos, the elegant dress has somewhat of a white peach hue — which complimented her skin tone beautifully.

5. Lapillus

Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun looked pretty in pink in their respective rose-colored ensembles on the red carpet. Wearing pink — especially with a shade as striking as Shana, Yue, Bessie, and Haeun’s — on the red carpet is often a kiss of death, but the four members managed to pull it off without looking gaudy.

Meanwhile, Chanty and Seowon look soft and feminine in their blush pink ensembles, while adding a girly vibe to the girl group’s usual strong image.

6. Seventeen BSS

Bringing their fun and whimsical side to the AAA red carpet, Seventeen BSS is among the boy groups who effortlessly captivated hearts in their school uniform-inspired suits in shades of navy blue and dark gray — complemented with pops of color on the bow ties and other accessories.

Hoshi was a sight to behold in his dark gray suit with checkered patterns, with his pale yellow shirt and light blue ribbon, adding a flair to his playful personality. Meanwhile, DK looked like a college boy that everyone had a crush on in his form fitting navy blue suit jacket and brown gingham pants.

On the other hand, Seungkwan’s bright demeanor was complimented with his navy blue suit, light blue undershirt, and bright yellow bow tie.

7. NewJeans

Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein surely had everyone’s attention in their brightly-colored ensembles on the AAA red carpet, which is a seeming callback to their fresh and youthful image. Taking a hip and Gen Z-inspired ensemble like NewJeans seems like a fashion nightmare, but the styling of the girl group’s looks — including the proper fitting of their outfits — made it work.

What also caught our eye was the use of their bunny necklaces, a callback to the girl group’s signature animal, as an embellishment rather than just a loud accessory.

8. Stray Kids

Fresh from their many activities, Stray Kids looked breathtaking as ever as they donned a more hip and youthful take on the usual blazer-and-pants look on the red carpet. Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. traded the usual form fitting black trousers for a baggy, loose bottoms, without looking too frumpy.

The highlight of their look, however, are the varying cuts and different textures on their blazer jackets, as if it’s a stylish way of establishing their individuality even if they’re united as a group.

9. IVE’s Jang Wonyoung

As the saying goes, it’s not about the gown, but how one carries the gown. And Jang Wonyoung embodied it with no question in her elegant midi red dress with a square neckline. Usually known for donning coquette-ish and feminine ensembles onstage, the IVE member is a master of adding a touch of elegance in her looks, with the ensemble proving that she’s unapologetically embracing her femininity.

10. ITZY

Despite Lia’s absence, Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna embodied the girl group’s fierce take of self love on the red carpet — with a more feminine interpretation this time around. The four members of ITZY are a breathtaking sight to behold, especially in person, in their respective four little black dresses that show their unique charms as female idols.

The square neckline of Yeji’s dress made her look commanding, while the mesh sleeves on Ryujin’s ensemble complimented her edgy personality. On the other hand, Chaeryeong looks feminine and chic in her asymmetrical dress, while Yuna is a reminiscent of a supermodel in her long sleeve dress with shoulder pads.
