Melai Cantiveros’ interview at the Asia Artist Awards 2023 ceremony brought joy to Filipino viewers as she showcased her genuine humor while getting interviewed by IVE’s Jang Won-young.
In her short interview, the Kapamilya star was asked how she was feeling about attending this year’s AAA, and as expected, Cantiveros answered it humorously with her signature facial expressions.
“Attending AAA is a very honor; I feel like I’m the first honor, a valedictorian in attending AAA, and so the best, prestigious award. I cannot believe this is happening,” said Cantiveros.

When asked which particular artist she was looking forward to seeing at the event, Cantiveros responded candidly, mentioning her daughter’s favorite artist.
“Kamsahamnida, mabuhay, maayong hapon mga taga Gensan, mga taga Pilipinas. I want, I’m so very idolized, Kim Seon-ho and NewJeans, because my daughter loves NewJeans,” she expressed.
(Thank you, good afternoon to the Gensan citizens and the Filipinos. The idols I want to see are Kim Seon-ho because he’s my idol and NewJeans because my daughter loves the girls.)
