Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are once again joining forces as the leads of the Philippine adaptation of the hit K-drama “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” which originally starred Park Seo-jun and Park Min-young.

The adaptation was confirmed by Viu Philippines on its official Instagram page on Tuesday, Nov. 21, which shared “Get Ready with Me” clips of the actors as their respective characters.

Chiu, who will be starring as the titular Secretary Kim, was seen curling her hair and putting makeup in the video.

For his cast video, Avelino appeared to be in work mode as he wore a necktie and a dark blue blazer.

The adaptation is a collaboration between ABS-CBN, Dreamscape Entertainment, and Viu Philippines, and is slated for a 2024 premiere.

Details about Chiu and Avelino’s roles and castmates, as well as the possible changes in the original storyline are yet to be disclosed, as of this writing.

“What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” marks Chiu and Avelino’s reunion following the success of their drama “Linlang” where they starred as estranged husband and wife, following the infidelity of the actress’ character Juliana.

The original K-drama tells the story of Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-jun) who works as the arrogant and vainglorious vice president of a company run by his family. His secretary Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young) is perhaps his most trusted employee until she decides to quit her job.

It’s based on the 2013 novel of the same name written by Jung Kyung-yoon. The novel was eventually turned into a webtoon comic by content platform KakaoPage two years later.
