‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim’ tops charts in South Korea
Currently-running romantic comedy “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” moved up one notch to claim the top spot on South Korean weekly charts, K-Pop Herald reports.
The story of the thrilling romance between a secretary and her egocentric boss recorded a score of 267 on the weekly Content Power Index for June 11 to 17.
In the series, Lee Young-joon, vice chairman of Yu Myung Group, played by Park Seo-joon, considers himself too perfect to date a less-than-ordinary girl. He has never seriously dated anyone. While being that way, his perfectionist secretary Kim Mi-so, played by Park Min-young, is tired of being on call day and night. Supporting her family ever since her father was swindled, she decides to quit living for others and sets out to find her own path in life.
The 16-part drama is based on the popular novel of the same name by Jang Kyung-yoon. The online novel was viewed 50 million times. It was also made into an online comic or webtoon, a format popular in South Korea, that garnered more than 200 million views. JB
