Maegan Aguilar was elated to share to the public her reconciliation with her dad, veteran singer-composer Freddie Aguilar, whom she thanked for accepting her again.
Maegan showed moments from her reunion with her dad and her children through her Instagram page last Saturday, Nov. 18.
“Sa wakas, nayakap ko na ulit ang tatay ko,” she said in the caption, adding the hashtags “Reconciliation 2023” and “God moved my mountain.” (“Finally, I got to hug my father again.”)
“I love you tay, salamat po sa pagtanggap ninyo sa amin at sa akin (I love you, dad. Thank you for accepting me, us),” the singer addressed Freddie. “I missed you so much tay [and] looking forward to spending more quality time with you and the kids and the rest of our family. May God bless us always.”
Freddie, for his part, gave a glimpse of his bonding time with Maegan and his grandchildren over dinner via his Facebook page.
“We had early dinner [tonight] together with my daughter Maegan, my granddaughters Layla Sky, Mahi Vae and Anaya,” he captioned his post. “ALHAMDULILLAH.”
It can be recalled that the father and daughter had a falling-out in 2014 after Maegan claimed that her dad kicked her and her children out of his house because of “rotten vegetables.”
Maegan also said at the time that she was done “covering up” for Freddie, whom she described as a “bad man and a negligent father.” Maegan and Freddie reconciled in 2015, although the two made headlines again earlier this year after she appeared on the show “Raffy Tulfo in Action” to ask for financial help from her dad.
Freddie then revealed that while he was already on talking terms with Maegan—who admitted that she used drugs before—she was still not allowed to enter his house until she changed for the better.
In February, Maegan underwent a hair follicle drug test that turned out positive. Despite this, Maegan maintained that she was not a drug addict but an “exhausted sick person.”
Based on her Instagram page, Maegan has since been seen enriching her faith, and had also performed alongside veteran singer Kuh Ledesma in several shows.
