Bea Borres mulls cyber-libel case vs Ricci Rivero over ‘kabit’ remark
Bea Borres is mulling to file a cyber-libel complaint against Ricci Rivero after he challenged her to expose who was really a “kabit,” (or mistress) in reaction to a cryptic post that she wrote on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
In a message that she sent to DJ Jhai Ho of the online entertainment show Marites University, Borres said that she is now consulting with a lawyer to determine what legal action she could take against Rivero, the ex-boyfriend of her close friend and fellow “Kadenang Ginto” co-star Andrea Brillantes.
“When I asked her kung ano masasabi nya regarding Ricci na ni-namedrop sya dahil sa post nya without naming names, sabi nito, sa ngayon daw she’s consulting her lawyer. Kausap daw nya ang kanyang lawyer kase pwede syang magsampa ng cyberlibel dahil sa sinabing pagiging kabit, at pinangalanan sya directly,” Jhai Ho said, quoting Borres.
She further told Jhai Ho that her lawyer is now reviewing her post on X, as well as Rivero’s reply to her supposedly random posts, wherein she said that “Time is the Ultimate truth teller,” and then made a comment about being smug.
Rivero apparently felt alluded toby Borres’ posts, especially as he had just officially announced his relationship with beauty queen-politician Leren Mae Bautista, who was accused of being the third party in his relationship with Brillantes.

Hingi ka lifeline para may bala ka bago ka mag reply publicly for your publicity. Sayang pakikiaalam mo kung di ka kasama sa headline,” he had said in his post-reply.

Ask for a lifeline so you can have something to hold on to, instead of replying for publicity. Getting involved in the issue is such a waste if you’re not part of the headline.)
Sought for comment, Rivero said that while he cannot stop Borres and their friends who are sympathetic to Brillantes from maligning him.
“Never akong pumatol sa kanila sa lahat ng pagpaparinig nila. We all know who she’s pertaining to sa mga tweets nya from the very start. Nagreply ako kasi sumosobra na sila, and meron naman talaga akong alam sa kanila pareho pero di ako nagsasalita kase di ako yung tao para manira. You all know me from the beginning,” he told Jhai Ho.
(I never engage with them even with all their allusions… We all know who she’s pertaining to in her tweets from the very start. I merely replied because what they are doing is too much, and I really do know something about them both but I never say anything because I’m not that kind of person. You all know me from the beginning.)
Rivero said “they” shouldn’t malign people “just for clicks.”
“Hindi third party si Leren, alam nila yan. Wag silang pa-clickbait para makuha ang simpatya ng tao at sirain kami. Mag move on kami ng maayos ng walang nasasaktan, dahil di nako papayag na may madamay pang iba para lang sa good publicity nila,” he said.
(Leren is not a third party, they know that. They shouldn’t post a clickbait just to get people’s sympathy at to ruin us. We should move on without anyone getting hurt, because I cannot allow someone else to get involved just to have good publicity.”
