‘The Suspenders’: ‘It’s Showtime’ hosts bond in Hong Kong amid suspension
The “It’s Showtime” hosts flew to Hong Kong and appear to have taken a breather amid the 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on the noontime show.
Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Ogie Alcasid, Ryan Bang, Teddy Corpuz and Jackie Gonzaga were in high spirits as they strolled together in what appears to be a mall, as seen on their respective Instagram pages on Thursday, Oct. 19.
Karylle’s husband musician Yael Yuzon and Corpuz’s wife were also with the noontime hosts during the trip. A certain Paola Huyong, who appears to be Bang’s non-showbiz girlfriend, was seen bonding with them as well.
Fellow hosts Kim Chiu, Jhong Hilario, Amy Perez and Jugs Jugueta were not able to join the out-of-the-country trip.
“We fam,” Corpuz wrote in the caption of one of his Instagram posts, adding the hashtag “The Suspenders.”

They also had a night of dancing and singing in a bar as well as a barbeque dinner, which was a treat from Alcasid.

The MTRCB suspended “It’s Showtime” last Sept. 4 over hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s alleged “indecent acts.” The noontime show’s production filed a motion for reconsideration, but the regulatory board denied this, citing “a big majority” of its board members who voted against the appeal.
When “It’s Showtime” started its 12-day suspension on Oct. 14, ABS-CBN launched the game variety show “It’s Your Lucky Day” to fill in its noontime spot. The show—hosted by Luis Manzano, Melai Cantiveros and Robi Domingo, among others—will be airing until Oct. 27. /ra
