‘It’s Showtime’ hosts to madlang people: ‘We’ll be right back!’
The “It’s Showtime” hosts bid a temporary farewell to their viewers before serving the show’s 12-day suspension issued by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
As they usually do, show hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Karylle, Ogie Alcasid, Ion Perez, Amy Perez, Ryan Bang, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta and Cianne Dominguez stood all together on the stage after the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment on Friday, Oct. 13.
Vice Ganda, who hosted the first few segments of the noontime show’s Friday episode, was noticeably absent during the singing competition and the hosts’ closing spiel.
“Abangan niyo po bukas ang ‘It’s Your Lucky Day,'” Navarro said after thanking the viewers. “Kami naman po, sa aming pagbabalik sa Oct. 28, magsama-sama tayong muli para sa ‘Mini Ms. U’ the cutest finale.'”

The hosts then danced to Alcasid’s song “Dito sa Puso Ko,” with some of them saying, “We love you, madlang people! We’ll miss you! See you in two weeks!”
MTRCB suspended the ABS-CBN noontime show last Sept. 4, following hosts Vice Ganda and Perez’s alleged “indecent acts.” The “It’s Showtime” production subsequently filed a motion for reconsideration, which the regulatory board denied after “a big majority” of its board members voted against the appeal.
ABS-CBN then announced that it would not appeal to the Office of the President the decision of the MTRCB, and would instead serve the 12-day suspension starting Oct. 14. Despite this, the Kapamilya network maintained that “It’s Showtime” did not break any pertinent laws.
The game variety show “It’s Your Lucky Day,” hosted by Luis Manzano alongside “Lucky Stars” Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Jennica Garcia, Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, will temporarily replace the noontime show from Oct. 14 to Oct. 27. /ra
