Luis Manzano’s ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ replaces ‘It’s Showtime’ for 12 days
After opting to serve the 12-day suspension issued by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to “It’s Showtime,” ABS-CBN announced that the variety program’s spot will temporarily be filled by a new “game variety show” called “It’s Your Lucky Day.”
In a statement, the Kapamilya network said that the show, which was conceptualized by the production team of “It’s Showtime,” will showcase “a set of original game and variety segments.”
These segments will be hosted by Luis Manzano, who will be joined by Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, and “Dirty Linen” actress Jennica Garcia. Additionally, the show will be inviting “special co-hosts and other celebrity guests.”
From its teaser, Domingo, Cantiveros, and Garcia are among the program’s “Lucky Stars.” Other celebrities expected to grace the show as “Lucky Stars” include Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.
Comedians Long Mejia, Negi, Petite, and Divine Tetay are also set to appear on the variety program, which will debut on Saturday, Oct. 14, and will conclude on Oct. 27.

Prior to the network’s decision to forego the option to submit an appeal to the Office of the President regarding the suspension, “It’s Showtime’s” production team and GMA filed a motion for reconsideration, which was denied by the MTRCB after “a big majority” of its board members voted against the appeal.
The suspension stemmed from complaints against “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez for alleged “indecent acts” committed during the show’s “Isip Bata” segment that aired July 25. In that segment, Vice Ganda licked icing off his finger from a cake offered by his real-life partner.
Vice Ganda as well as the show’s producers insisted there was nothing obscene about the act, but an “overwhelming majority” of the board ruled to dismiss their position. EDV
