Luis Manzano greets TVJ, ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts on ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ pilot episode

“It’s Your Lucky Day” host Luis Manzano delighted viewers on the game variety show’s pilot episode as he didn’t only make mention of the “It’s Showtime” family, but also extended his greetings to the hosts of their noontime counterparts “Eat Bulaga” and “E.A.T.”
The ABS-CBN game variety show, which has replaced “It’s Showtime” for 12 days, opened with performers dancing lively to Jo Boxers’ “Just Got Lucky” and was followed by the entrance of Manzano as well as “Lucky Stars” Shaina Magdayao, Melai Cantiveros, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, Jennica Garcia, and comedians Long Mejia, Negi, Petit and Divine Tetay.
“Gusto naming batiin ang ‘It’s Showtime’ family. Sa mga madlang people, konting pikit lang makakasama niyo na ang ‘It’s Showtime’ family,” Manzano said during the opening spiel on Saturday, Oct. 14.
“At bubusina rin po tayo sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ at syempre sa TVJ po—panandalian ay makakasama po namin kayo sa noontime,” he continued, referring to TV hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon of “E.A.T.”
While the show hosts were talking about their lucky charms in life, Manzano also pointed out that “It’s Your Lucky Day” will be making a “history” in the television industry.
“[Alam niyo] kung bakit tayo mapupunta sa history? Dahil first time sa lahat ng shows ng ABS-CBN—kahit sa buong industriya—hindi pa tayo natatapos ng unang episode, maa-announce na natin na ‘Ang huling dalawang linggo!'” he quipped, eliciting laughs from fellow hosts and the audience.
Also in attendance at the pilot episode of the show were ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes, Lauren Dyogi and Lui Andrada.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) suspended “It’s Showtime” last Sept. 4, following its hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s alleged “indecent acts.” The production of the noontime show then filed a motion for reconsideration, which the regulatory board denied after “a big majority” of its board members voted against the appeal.
ABS-CBN then announced that the noontime show would serve the 12-day suspension starting Oct. 14, but the Kapamilya network maintained that “It’s Showtime” did not break any pertinent laws.
“It’s Your Lucky Day” will be airing from Oct. 14 to Oct. 27. /ra
