Nina to headline ‘The Filipino Festival’ music fest
MANILA, Philippines — An evening of music will kick off the month-long celebration of “The Filipino Festival” in October, with no less than “Soul Siren” Nina headlining the opening event.
The sultry songstress will deliver her top hits that made her a multiple platinum-selling recording artist at “The Filipino Music Fest” at the 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub at Estancia Mall in Pasig City on Oct. 5.
Joining the “Jealous” and “Someday” singer in an evening of Filipino music are the groups I Belong to the Zoo and Driven 2.0.

The show will also showcase the entries from the finalists of The Filipino Music Fest–“Dito pa rin Ako” by Daniel Temporada, “Higit pa sa Ganda” by Maria Angelica Dayao, and “My Superstar” by Edmund Perlas and C-Tru.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Filipino Festival is a month-long celebration of Philippine culture and heritage. Aside from The Filipino Music Fest, it will also bring “The Filipino Food and Products Fest,” “The Filipino Fashion Fest,” and “The Filipino Film Festival.”
Empire Holdings Inc., organizer of the festival, earlier made a call for promising songwriters, filmmakers, and fashion designers who want to showcase their talents in the different events. The finalists in The Filipino Fashion Fest and The Filipino Film Festival will be announced soon.
The celebration of The Filipino Festival will culminate in the back-to-back final competitions of The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration and the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide competition at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Oct. 24. EDV
