Kim Chiu says no big deal even if not invited to Maja Salvador’s wedding
Kim Chiu admitted that she wasn’t invited to Maja Salvador’s wedding to Rambo Nuñez in Indonesia last July, although she clarified that they’re still on good terms up to this day.
In her Q&A vlog uploaded on her YouTube channel last Sunday, Sept. 24, the “It’s Showtime” host answered a fan’s query as to why she was absent at Salvador’s wedding.
“Hindi naman kami sobrang close na ni Maja and hindi na rin naman kami masyadong nagu-usap,” she said. “Siyempre, kapag kasal mo, gusto mo ‘yung mga taong gusto mo lang nandyan to witness your love sa partner mo. Hindi ako na-imbitahan.”
(Maja and I are not as close as before and we haven’t been in contact for a while. Of course, when it comes to your wedding, you want the people closest to you to be there to witness your love with your partner. So I wasn’t invited.)
In a seeming attempt to avoid further controversies, Chiu said she’s “very happy” for the newlyweds and even sent a message to wish them well.

At na-touch din ako nung minessage niya ako dahil doon sa nangyari sa ate ko (It’s okay! There’s no hard feelings at all. I’m so happy for her. I even messaged her. And I was touched when she reached out to me after what happened to my sister),” she said, referring to her older sister Lakam’s recent health crisis.

The “Linlang” star stressed that not being invited to someone’s wedding shouldn’t be seen as a big deal, saying that Salvador deserves to be happy on her special day.
“Pero siguro sa kasal, hindi naman na importante kung imbitado ka or hindi. Basta sa sarili mo masaya ka na nangyari sa kanya ‘yun. Deserve nila ang isa’t isa, sila ni Rambo,” she said. “Hindi naman na mahalaga ‘yun. Issue pa ‘yun? Bakit? Pagdating ko ba ‘dun, hihinto ang kasal?”
(In terms of someone’s wedding, it doesn’t matter if you’re invited or not. As long as you know for yourself that you’re happy and that she’s happy. She and Rambo deserve each other. It doesn’t matter. Why should this be an issue? Would the wedding stop when I arrive?)
During her vlog, Chiu also congratulated the newlyweds for finding their “forever.”
“Hindi naman na siguro ako magma-matter kung present or hindi. As long as happy ako na nahanap na niya ang forever niya. At ‘yun si Rambo. Kaya congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Nunez (It doesn’t matter if I’m present or not. As long as I’m happy that she found her forever, and she did with Rambo. So congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Nunez),” she said.
Chiu and Salvador are known for being close friends until starring in the 2013 teleserye “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” after the latter became romantically involved with Gerald Anderson, who happened to be the former’s ex-boyfriend. Anderson and Salvador eventually split in 2015.
Meanwhile, Chiu and Anderson were previously in a reel-to-real relationship until they broke up in 2010. They reunited in the teleserye “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin” in May 2017.
Both actresses eventually patched up their differences, with Salvador revealing in an interview that they’ve been on good terms since 2014. They were spotted together in New Jersey for an overseas show.
