Troy Montero expressed dismay after the Facebook page he runs for Rocket, his daughter diagnosed with autism, has been “unpublished” by the platform.
“I am truly sad today. Facebook has UNPUBLISHED our Rocket’s Autism Awareness page stating: ‘Rocket’s ASD Awareness Page goes against our Community Standards on account integrity and authentic identity,'” Montero said through his Instagram page on Friday, Sept. 22.
Montero speculates that the page, which has over 100,000 followers, was taken down due to a report or “some AI thing.” He then appealed to the social media platform to respond to his queries to retrieve the page.
“I’m in tears over this,” he continued. “I run this FB page for my daughter who is on the Autism Spectrum. We share progress, stories, and even exchange valuable information to other families with Autism. Please bring our page back.”
Their social media followers then expressed their support for Montero and stressed that the account has been helpful to parents of children with autism.
Rocket is the youngest child of Montero and his wife, actress Aubrey Miles. The couple revealed their daughter’s condition in April last year, saying they opted not to share the information immediately to the public because they were still educating themselves. /ra
