Sharon Cuneta disclosed that her husband, former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, as well as their children Kakie, Miel, and Miguel, won’t be attending her reunion concert with ex Gabby Concepcion, as she noted that it’s a mutual decision between them.

The singer-actress made the confirmation during the press conference for her upcoming “Dear Heart” show with Gabby Concepcion, per Inquirer Bandera, while explaining that she wants to protect Pangilinan and their three children from controversy.

“Pinag-usapan na namin ni Kiko (Kiko and I talked about it). I want to shield them from anything that people might say. [They] are solid Sharon-Gabby fans up to this day,” she said.

“My husband is the coolest. He’s very supportive. When this ‘Dear Heart’ concert was first announced, he simply said, ‘Sana naman matuloy na ‘yan (I hope the show will push through),’” she continued.

While noting how much her husband loves her, Cuneta pointed out that her reunion concert with Concepcion is made for their target audience

“This is for our audience and I don’t think kailangan pang makita ng asawa ko’t mga anak ko ‘yon, except KC, of course… Naninibago nga ako. The concert is a brand-new experience after so many decades na may gagawin kaming dalawa and we’re working together again. Excited ako at masaya,” she said.

Cuneta is ‘thankful’

During the media conference, Cuneta admitted that she wouldn’t have gotten married to Concepcion if she had a chance to go back to their past. She, however, clarified that she’s “thankful” to her ex-husband and daughter KC.

“I would have properly given it a little more time so we would be more mature and ready. I probably would have gotten married later… But I will always be thankful [to] Gabby that he’s the father of my eldest daughter KC. I will always respect the good times that we shared. I will always remember him fondly,” she said.

Despite this, the “PS I Love You” singer confessed that she and Concepcion would always have “chemistry.”

“It has been so long that our followers have missed us together. Kahit tumayo lang kami, may effect na (Even if we’re only standing, we have a certain effect already),” she said. “Chemistry is something that cannot be created. It’s either there or not. Gabby and I always have that, no matter what.”

Shortly after the reunion concert was announced, Cuneta’s daughter with Concepcion, KC, earlier made headlines after unfollowing Kiko and Kakie on Instagram although she clarified that she will “never unlove” her stepfamily.

The Megastar apparently addressed their tiff in the comments of KC’s post earlier this month, to which she reminded the latter that her “Daddy and siblings” will always love her. The comment, however, has taken down the comment, as of this writing. EDV
