It seems that Jak Roberto’s “anti-silos” meme met its match in the hands of David Licauco—loveteam partner of the former’s girlfriend Barbie Forteza—as he jokingly said its counterpart will be known as DLSU, or David Licauco Seloso University.

The “anti-silos,” a colloquial term for “anti-selos” or “anti-jealousy,” meme has been a topic of interest among netizens due to Roberto’s easygoing attitude toward Forteza and Licauco’s onscreen partnership. The Kapuso hunk previously held an in-person “class” at the Jose Rizal University earlier this month.

“Si Jak [Roberto] ay merong JRU, Jak Roberto University. Ano naman meron si David (Jak Roberto has JRU, Jak Roberto University. What does David have)?” Abunda asked Licauco in the Aug. 29 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.”

“Merong DLSU, David Licauco Seloso University,” he quipped in response. It can be noted that the actor earned his bachelor’s degree at De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde in 2016.

Licauco then confessed that he’s the jealous type of partner although he noted that his jealousy depends on the type of situation.

“Siguro depende rin sa context of the situation. Siyempre kung lalabas naman talaga ‘yung girlfriend mo with her friends, kailangan mong intindihin ‘yun. Pero minsan kasi may guys na iba ‘yung pakay,” he explained. “As a guy, alam ko kung ano ‘yung lalaking pwede mong pagkatiwalaan at hindi mo pagkakatiwalaan.”

(I guess it depends on the context of the situation. Of course, if your girlfriend wants to go out with her friends, you have to understand her. But there are times that she would encounter guys with different intentions. As a guy, I know which guy should be trusted and which guy shouldn’t be trusted.)

The actor, however, pointed out that he doesn’t want to be too upfront about his jealousy since it can affect a relationship, saying he respects his partner’s personal life.

“Seloso ako in a way pero I don’t really say it na ‘Hoy nagseselos ako ah.’ Siyempre hindi naman maganda. Siyempre, meron din siyang sarili niyang buhay, may sarili akong buhay, sarili ko lang. I’ll just keep it to myself,” he said. (I’m the jealous type, but I don’t really say it as in “Hey, I’m jealous.” Of course, it’s not nice. Of course, she has her own life. I have my own life so I’ll keep it to myself.)

On Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto

During the interview, the “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star admitted that he and Forteza talked about posts pertaining to the “anti-silos” memes and Roberto’s reaction to their emerging love team at some point.

“Sometimes, nababasa namin ‘yung mga tweets, pinag-uusapan namin kung paano nare-receive ‘yung mga nangyayari especially ‘yung ‘anti-silos,’ pinag-uusapan namin ‘yung reaction ni Jak towards that. Pero siyempre tinatawanan lang namin kasi at the end of the day, entertainers kami, and we’re so happy to entertain,” he said.

(Sometimes, we read the tweets. We talk about the response to our love team, especially to the “anti-silos” memes. We talk about the reaction of Jak towards that. But of course, we laugh it off because at the end of the day, we’re entertainers and we’re so happy to entertain.)

Licauco, who described Forteza as his “good friend,” said he understood where fans are coming from, although he clarified that he and Roberto are good friends behind the scenes.

“Siyempre, kailangan nating intindihin from a fan’s perspective. Humahanga sila sa’min which is why gusto maging kami ni [Barbie] (Of course, we have to understand it from a fan’s perspective. They admire us, which is why they want Barbie and I to end up together). We try our best to understand that because they have feelings,” he said.

Licauco and Forteza’s love team was propelled into the limelight after starring as Fidel and Klay in the show “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which ultimately earned the ship names FiLay and BarDa.

The onscreen partners will headline the upcoming series “Maging Sino Ka Man” on Sept. 11 and will star in the film “That Kind of Love.”  /ra
