Sylvia Sanchez expresses gratitude to mother-in-law in birthday greeting

Sylvia Sanchez penned a touching birthday greeting for her mother-in-law, Pilar Atayde, who she said treated her like one of her own children.

In an Instagram post, the veteran actress paid tribute to the mother of her husband Art Atayde who was surprised to see several family members come together on her special day. Sanchez shared clips from the gathering, during which her mother-in-law got emotional.

In her post’s caption, the award-winning actress was all praises for her “Mommy Pilar,” who Sanchez considers “a great example” of how a mother-in-law should be.

“Thank you, Mommy Pilar for being the most caring, loving and cool mother-in-law. Thank you for treating and welcoming me as your daughter. Thank you for being a great example of a mother-in-law. Promise! I will be just like you [emojis] Love you, Mom [emojis] Happy Birthday, Piluchi [emojis] Happy afternoon [emojis],” wrote the “Huwag Kang Mangamba” actress.

Sanchez, in her recent posts, had been very vocal about her appreciation for daughter-in-law Maine Mendoza, who is married to her son, Quezon City Rep. Arjo Atayde. A day prior to the couple’s wedding in Baguio City on July 28, “The Greatest Love” star wrote a heartwarming message to her then future daughter-in-law.

“Matagal na kitang minahal at itinuring na isang tunay na anak mula [nang] minahal mo ang anak kong si Arjo (I’ve long loved and considered you like my own child ever since you loved my son, Arjo) @mainedcm [emoji],” Sanchez told the “EAT” mainstay, and expressed that Mendoza allow her to completely make her feel the love for a daughter she has experienced from her in-laws.

Meanwhile, Sanchez, on her Instagram Stories, showed how her mother-in-law enjoyed watching Gary Valenciano perform. In the clip she shared, Mr. Pure Energy entertained the crowd with his hit “Di Bale Na Lang.” EDV
