South Korean actors Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun-jin are pairing up for the upcoming series “The Trunk,” which tells the story of unforeseen events after a mysterious trunk was found in the lake.

Gong and Seo’s new project was confirmed in a release last Monday, July 17, where the series is based on a novel of the same name.

The “Goblin” star will take on the role of Jeong-won, a music producer who finds himself in an unexpected marriage contract. Meanwhile, Seo will star as matchmaking employee In-ji.

Apart from the story’s “mysterious trunk,” Jeong-won (Gong Yoo) unexpectedly finds himself meeting his second wife In-ji (Seo Hyun-jin), which was arranged by his ex-wife Seo-yeon.

The K-drama will be helmed by filmmaker Kim Gyu-tae, who directed popular K-dramas “A Love to Kill,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” and “Scarlet Heart,” among many others. Meanwhile, Park Eun-young was tapped to write the show’s script.

Details of the series’ premiere and additional cast are yet to be announced, as of this writing.
