Bea Alonzo has denied reports of a falling-out with her “Start-Up PH” co-star Alden Richards, saying what they had was just a “misunderstanding” behind-the-scenes.
Alonzo made the revelation during a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Thursday, July 13, where she was asked about her rumored quarrel with the actor during the show’s “Fast Talk” segment.
“Truth or lie: Nag-away kayo ni Alden (Truth or lie: You and Alden fought before),” Abunda asked the Kapuso star.
“Truth, but actually lie kasi hindi kami nag-away. Nagkaroon kami ng sama ng loob but hindi kami nag-away (Truth, but actually lie because we didn’t fight. We just had a moment of resentment towards one another, but we didn’t fight),” she said in response.
The actress was then asked if her rift with Richards stemmed from a “professional problem,” to which she replied that “it kinda was” the case.
“It’s also because we have different backgrounds [in terms of being artists]. I think nagkaroon lang ng mga misunderstandings while on set. But we were able to talk about it,” she said.
“I remember we were on the plane going to Davao while we were promoting ‘Start-Up PH,’ like pinag-usapan namin like mature people and we were able to sort things out,” she continued.

Rumors about the Kapuso actors’ alleged rift started when “Start-Up PH” was still airing, although neither addressed the issue at the time.
Alonzo and Richards were cast as the leads of the local adaptation of “Start-Up,” which is based on the hit Korean drama of the same name. The original material stars Bae Suzy, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Kim Seon-ho.
In May, Alonzo confirmed that she will no longer be working with the “Hello, Love, Goodbye” star in the upcoming film “A Moment to Remember” due to her busy schedule. It was later confirmed that Julia Barretto will take her place. EDV
