Andrea Brillantes on having ‘inner peace’ after split with Ricci Rivero: ‘Lahat naman ng tao naloloko’

Andrea Brillantes has seemingly moved on from her controversial split with basketball player Ricci Rivero, as she realize with age-old knowledge that people do get “cheated on” at some point in their lives.
Without disclosing Rivero’s name, the actress briefly spoke about their break-up at a cover interview with lifestyle magazine Preview, which was uploaded last Wednesday, July 12.
“Lahat naman ng tao naloloko (Everyone gets cheated on at some point),” she was quoted as saying, while noting that news about their separation does not affect her anymore.
“Natatawa lang ako pero hindi ako naapektuhan by it. Siguro kung maapektuhan ako, naiinis lang ako sa mga tao na hindi pa maka-move on. Ako nga, okay na okay na ako. Pero wala akong magagawa about it eh. May bagong headline, okay. Kahit ang OA ng iba, okay,” she further added.
(I’m amused with them, but I’m not affected by it anymore. I guess if I’m still affected, I would be annoyed at some people who can’t move on. Me, I’m very much okay. But I can’t do anything about it. There are new headlines, okay. Even if some tend to be too much, okay.)
Brillantes then confessed that ending her romance with the basketball player made her realize how much she’d grown, while adding that she gained “inner peace.”
“Sobrang nakatulong yung break-up kasi [doon ko na-realize] na [hindi na] ako baby. Yung inner peace ko, nabuo ko na sya eh (The break-up helped me because it made me realize that I’m not a baby anymore. I’ve formed inner peace within myself),” she said.
The “Drag You & Me” star earlier claimed that her ex-boyfriend intentionally left out some details regarding the events that led to their break-up during his “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview last June. In that interview, Rivero admitted that Brillantes saw him with a woman at his place, although he pointed out that she was just a companion of one of his friends.
Reacting to his interview, Brillantes told TV host DJ Jhai Ho in a text message that Rivero failed to mention that the woman she saw in his apartment was stark naked. EDV
