Iya Villania, Robi Domingo reunite at ‘It’s Showtime’ contract signing with GMA

“It’s Showtime’s” contract signing with GMA’s GTV on Wednesday paved the way for former “Myx” VJs Iya Villania and Robi Domingo to reunite.

After Domingo and Villania — who hosted the event — introduced themselves as Kapamilya and Kapuso, respectively, Domingo told the former Kapamilya, “Ate Iya, I missed you so much.” Villania would immediately respond, “I missed you. It’s so nice to be together.”

Domingo would talk about their reunion on Instagram, where he uploaded snaps with his former “ASAP” co-host and also posted their photo with the “It’s Showtime” hosts. In his caption, Domingo, who joined music channel “Myx” in 2008, expressed that he’s “[r]eally happy to reunite with one of my favorite VJs ever! THE ICONIC VJ @iyavillania!”

The “ASAP Natin ‘To” mainstay also shared how they’ve discussed work, family life, and the impact of the music channel in their lives. “Love you ate Iya! [grinning face with smiling eyes emoji],” Domingo told the Kapuso TV host.

Villania, in the comments section, would tell Domingo, “Missed you baby [R]obi!!!! You’re not so baby anymore! [laughing-crying face emoji]”

The two also shared about their reunion on their Instagram Stories. In one of his Stories, Domingo shared a clip of the two hugging, and said how the hug is like those in dramas “with the scoring.”

During the contract signing, the two expressed excitement for the new partnership, with Villania sharing how she felt the same when she witnessed the networks collaborate for the teleserye “Unbreak My Heart.”

“This makes my heart so happy, Robi, because…I already witnessed it during “Unbreak My Heart,” you know, when I saw both ABS[-CBN] and GMA coming together, and it’s just really beautiful how after that, there’s this.” And so, it really just shows you how doors really have opened for more opportunities to come together, to work together, to support each other. And it’s so nice to be a part of it,” she shared.

Domingo shared how “there’s a word that comes to mind” with regard to the partnership, which he revealed was “kalinga” (care). “Nando’n para sa isa’t isa (They’re there for each another), Kapuso at Kapamilya,” he explained.

The mom of four, originally a Kapuso artist, transferred to the Kapamilya network in 2004, the same year she joined “Myx,” but would then return to GMA in 2014. Villania currently hosts the “Chika Minute” segment of “24 Oras.”

Domingo got engaged to long-time girlfriend Maiqui Pineda last year, and hosted the most recent season of “The Voice Kids Philippines,” which crowned a new champion last month. EDV
