K-pop group Lapillus to drop second mini-album ‘Girl’s Round Part 2’ on June 21

Lapillus is gearing up for their return to the K-pop scene with their second mini-album “Girl’s Round Part. 2” on June 21, which happens to fall a day after their debut anniversary.
Eight months since their last record, the sextet will show off their “relentless determination” in their upcoming album, according to a release from South Korean music label MLD Entertainment.
The album contains the following tracks, “Marionette,” “Ulala,” “Paper,” and “Who’s Next,” the lattermost of which is said to be a title track. English and instrumental versions of the title song will also be included.
The upcoming mini-album is the second installment of Lapillus’ “Girl’s Round” series, which was first released in October 2022.
“Lapillus will prove their being as a full ‘hexagon group’ and show off their leveled-up skills. The girl group built up their own identity, as the members [will show a] performance where all parts seem to be the killing parts,” MLD’s statement added.
It can be recalled that “killing part” is a jargon used in K-pop referring to the most memorable line or dance move of a song.
The music label also shared that “Who’s Next” is a hip-hop dance track that will focus on the theme of “self-love.”
Lapillus consists of six members with different nationalities, namely, Chanty (Filipina-Argentine), “Girls’ Planet 999” alum Shana (Japanese), Yue (Chinese-American), Bessie (Korean), Seowon (Korean), and Haeun (Korean). They’re best known for their songs “Hit Ya” and “Gratata.”
During a September 2022 interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, Chanty and Shana said the members’ different backgrounds set them apart from their counterparts. “All of us are different in a way. We have different ways of expressing ourselves while performing, which makes it interesting to see and listen to,” Chanty said.
“Sometimes, our ideas don’t match, but we try to find solutions to [improve our work]. I really love the girls,” Shana added. EDV
