Reigning Miss International Jasmin Selberg in the Philippines for Binibining Pilipinas 2023
MANILA, Philippines—Reigning Miss International Jasmin Selberg is in the country to help crown the Filipino queen who will try to win the crown on her head in the global tilt’s 62nd edition next year.
She arrived in the country on Thursday, May 25, and faced a group of local media scribes for her official press conference at the Novotel Manila Araneta City in Quezon City on Friday.
“Thank you for welcoming me with a typhoon. I haven’t experienced that one yet,” she said with a hearty chuckle.
The German beauty, her country’s third Miss International winner, will attend the grand coronation night of the 59th Binibining Pilipinas pageant on Sunday, May 28, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the Araneta City in Quezon City.
When she captured her international title in Tokyo in December, Selberg said she was “happy to write history” for her country as a history student herself. This time, she will once again make history as the first non-Filipino reigning queen of a global pageant to grace the Bb. Pilipinas stage.

Selberg will relinquish her title at the 61st Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan, in October, where the Philippines will be represented by 2022 Bb. Pilipinas Nicole Borromeo. The new national winner will compete in next year’s edition of the Miss International pageant.
The 2023 Bb. Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night will be hosted by 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray, 2016 Miss Grand International first runner-up Nicole Cordoves and 2014 Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa. “Unkabogable Queen” Vice Ganda will perform. /ra
