Blackpink’s Jennie was among the buzzworthy celebrities who graced the Cannes Film Festival premiere of the “The Idol,” where she’s part of the series as a supporting cast.

Jennie was reminiscent of a princess in a black-and-white Chanel midi dress, which featured an off-shoulder design, along with tulle and lace framing the bodice. The old Hollywood-inspired look was finished with a black bow headband and black heels, as seen in photos from the Twitter page of Korean media outlet News1 on Tuesday, May 23.

More of the “Solo” hitmaker’s glamorous look was uploaded in a separate post from “The Idol’s” Instagram page on the same day.

“JENNIE RUBY JANE @FESTIVALDECANNES #THEIDOL #CANNES2023,” its caption read.

Jennie was spotted with her fellow castmates The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, and Rachel Sennott during the film festival.

The Blackpink member was also spotted with Sivan during the series afterparty, where she donned a checkered waistcoat and black midi skirt, as seen on the Twitter account of K-pop columnist Jeff Benjamin.

Jennie, who goes by the screen name Jennie Ruby Jane in her acting debut, stars as Dyanne in the series, who is said to be the backup dancer of up-and-coming pop idol Jocelyn (Lily Rose-Depp).

The K-pop idol admitted that she always wanted to act during a November 2022 interview with Elle magazine, saying that it’s her dream.

“I’ve had a dream of acting in the future, as I was doing so many different parts already as an artist, so I’ve always wondered what it would be like. But the opportunity just came to me so naturally one day. And I just knew that it was something that I would regret if I didn’t go for it,” she was quoted as saying. EDV
