Heart Evangelista speaks out on alleged snub of Vicki Belo, Alex Gonzaga: ‘Hindi ko naman siya nakita’

Months after the alleged snub of Vicki Belo and Alex Gonzaga at the Milan Fashion Week, Heart Evangelista shared her side of the story, saying she was busy during the event.
Belo and Gonzaga made headlines in November 2022 after they joked that the actress-socialite didn’t greet them even if they were seated in the same row during the fashion event in Italy. Days after, the former clarified that they were merely “kidding and joking around.”
Evangelista said in the May 12 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that at the said event she actually didn’t have time to meet with other people.
“Hindi ko naman siya nakita,” she said. “I’m not there to chit chat. I’m there to immerse myself. Para sa mga hindi nakakaintindi, [fashion] is art. And you appreciate art. For me, ‘yun talaga ang hilig ko eh.”
The “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon” star also noted that she was very “focused” during the fashion show, noting she wanted to make the most of her experience in Milan.
“Talagang nagfo-focus ako [sa Fashion Week], especially it was a Gucci show. [Kunwari], isang model sa stage may kambal, ta’s lahat ng umakyat sa stage ay kambal, talagang wala ka nang makikitang ibang tao. It’s such an experience and sometimes, everything else is a blur,” she said.
During the interview, Evangelista said that while there are “bigger stars” invited at Fashion Week, she’s very grateful to be among the stars considered for the event.
“There are bigger stars [at Fashion Week]. But may mararating ka talaga when you love something. No matter how weird or unique it is, if it’s something you love and if you’re authentic about it, you will get somewhere,” she added.
Following the reports of Evangelista’s alleged snub, Gonzaga also clarified her remarks on Facebook, pointing out that she didn’t actually meet the former in Italy.
“Ay.. Hindi po kami nagkita sa Milan, biruan lang po namin ‘yan ni [Dra. Belo] if you watch the whole vlog,” she said. “Heart is nice since ‘Pangarap na Bituin’ circa 2007 pa po sakin, at magkaibigan kami. Hindi na dapat ginawang news mga ganito.” /ra
