Dolly de Leon thrilled to work with Kathryn Bernardo in upcoming movie
Award-winning actress Dolly de Leon is excited to be working with Kathryn Bernardo in their upcoming movie under Star Cinema, “A Very Good Girl.” De Leon expressed her admiration for Bernardo’s acting skills and described her as “a very good and kind person.”
De Leon, who has been busy with her Hollywood career, recently returned to the Philippines to be the first jury chairperson for the 1st Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). She revealed that despite her success in Hollywood, she still prefers to reside in the Philippines.
“Right now I want to live here. Umuwi talaga ako sa Pilipinas para lang dito (1st Summer MMFF). During Holy Week, me and my kids we just stayed home, played UNO, yung baraha? We didn’t go out of town because of this (MMFF Gabi ng Parangal). So I decided to just stay here. Ito na yung bakasyon ko, yung Summer MMFF,” in an interview with reporters at the sidelines of the MMFF awards night.
Aside from her upcoming movie with Bernardo, the internationally acclaimed actress is set to appear in “Grand Death Lotto” alongside Hollywood stars John Cena, Awkwafina, and Simu Liu. Despite her busy schedule, De Leon still finds time to come back to the Philippines for her family and work commitments.
In the interview, De Leon also spoke candidly about being uncomfortable with being labeled as a “Hollywood star.” She considers herself a working actor who does her craft all around the world.
Article continues after this advertisementDe Leon also clarified her role as head of the jury for the 1st Summer MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, saying that the decision-making process was not about eliminating anyone. She explained that the jurors nominated and chose the winners based on the tally of their votes.
Despite the minor controversy surrounding the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal, De Leon expressed her happiness with the results and emphasized that it’s impossible to please everyone. She believes that as long as she’s happy with the results, it’s enough.
