Lx2 Entertainment, the promoter of Pokwang and K Brosas’ “BFF” shows in the United States, will be taking legal action against its Chicago and Las Vegas show producer, Vince Gesmund, after he allegedly “did not give any compensation for the two performers.”

The entertainment company addressed this through a statement released on Tuesday, April 4, even as it dismissed claims that the comedians are temporarily staying at a fellow Filipino’s house in Las Vegas after the show was canceled.

“We received a call from the CEO (chief executive officer) of Lx2 Entertainment, Loie Magan, this afternoon in the Philippines to clarify the false information being spread by the producer of Pokwang and K’s show in Las Vegas, Vince Gesmundo of VynzMuzik LLC,” it said. “Loie clarified that Pokwang and K are not [staying at] a Filipino’s house in Las Vegas.”

It added that the comedians are currently checked in a hotel in Las Vegas, and that Pokwang has already assured the management that they are all fine.

The company further said that they have been following up Pokwang and Brosas’ talent fees to Gesmundo since the pair’s prior show in Chicago, but that the producer only responded “with excuses and pleas.” It disclosed that the comedians almost did not perform in Chicago for this reason.

Lx2 Entertainment pushed back the time of their deadline to Vince several times to give the talent fee of the performers and also, in their desire to make their fellow Filipinos happy in Las Vegas, but it is said that Vince did not really show up for them,” it stated.

The entertainment company pointed out that this prompted them to cancel the Las Vegas show, noting that Gesmundo owed them $13,000 for their Chicago show and another $33,000 for the Las Vegas show.

Right now, Lx2 Entertainment is planning to sue Vince as a protection not only for their artists, but also for other Pinoy entertainers he hires to perform in the U.S.,” it concluded.

Pokwang and Brosas’ Las Vegas show was supposed to be held last April 2. Prior to this, the pair had already performed in San Mateo and San Diego, both in California, and in Chicago.  /ra
