Kris Bernal seemed uncertain whether or not her friendship with her former love team partner, actor Aljur Abrenica, still remains, as she revealed she had been sending him messages but had so far received no response.

Bernal starred with Abrenica in several GMA TV series including “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?” (2009), “All My Life” (2009) and “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko” (2013). The actress spoke about their then-team up and clarified that it never turned into a real-life romance, during her interview for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, March 21.

“Hindi talaga, love team lang talaga kami. Nagparamdam ng konti pero hindi nag-work talaga as a real couple e, as a love team lang,” she explained. “I guess parang naramdaman niya that time na hindi ako interested at tsaka may mga times din na hindi kami nagkakasundo e.”

(No, we were really just a love team then. [He] showed some signs of interest but it did not work for us to be a real couple. I guess he must have felt at the time that I was not interested. There were also times when we had misunderstandings.)

When asked if she is still friends with Abrenica, Bernal hesitantly replied, “half.”

“Hindi niya ako nire-reply-an, Tito Boy, e. Ilang beses ko na siyang yinaya sa vlog ko, hindi niya ako nire-reply-an,” she continued. (He has not been replying to me, Tito Boy. I already asked him several times to join in my vlog but he has not responded to my messages.)

“Aljur, please?” she quipped, addressing the actor whom she regarded as her “favorite leading man.” “Pero ‘yun nga, nananawagan ako kay Aljur, baka naman pwede tayong mag-collab.” (But as I said, I’m asking Aljur if we could have a [collaboration]?)

Aside from her former love team, Bernal also talked about her pregnancy with her first child and how she embraces the changes in her body as well as her lifestyle.

“Hirap na hirap ako lalo na ‘yung first trimester ko. Bed rest talaga ako then meron akong mga infection pero titiisin mo talaga—iinom ka ng gamot on time, kakainin mo itong mga ito— talagang simula pa lang nando’n na ‘yung sakripisyo mo,” she said.

(It was very hard for me, especially in my first trimester. I was on bed rest and I had infections but I needed to endure it, to drink medication at a certain time, and to eat certain food. The sacrifices are really present even in the beginning [of the pregnancy].)

Bernal also turned emotional as she vowed to be the “best mom” to her child, expressing hopes that her child would be proud of her.
