Son Ye-jin, Hyun Bin to take legal action vs divorce rumors: ‘This is obviously fake news’

K-drama power couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin are considering taking legal action against a content creator who started a rumor that they are getting a divorce.
Earlier this week, a content creator claimed that the couple have mutually agreed to divorce after just six months of marriage due to Hyun Bin’s alleged gambling addiction, according to a report from Korean media outlet Star News. The report further said the content creator also alleged that Ye-jin suffered financial losses due to her husband’s gambling pursuits abroad.
The videos which were posted on YouTube were titled “Actress Hyun Bin Son Ye-jin divorced after 6 months of marriage!” and “Hyun Bin Son Ye-jin divorced after 6 months of marriage… A video titled, ‘It’s shocking,’” have reportedly been deleted, as of this writing.
The “Crash Landing on You” stars are set to mark their first wedding anniversary on March 31. Ye-jin recently gave birth to their firstborn son last November, while the Hyun Bin was filming in Mongolia at the time.
VAST Entertainment and MSteam Entertainment, the respective labels of Hyun Bin and Ye-jin, confirmed that they are planning to “take legal action,” as they noted that both videos were “groundless fake news.”
“[The content creator’s claims are] groundless. It is fake news,” a statement from Vast Entertainment said per report, according to a translation from Soompi. “We are constantly monitoring the rumors. We plan to take legal action after an internal review.”
On the other hand, MSTeam said they already requested the videos to be taken down, and are set to “take strong measures” against the YouTuber.
“This is obviously fake news. We are constantly monitoring [the situation] internally, and we have already requested YouTube to delete the video. We will take strong measures, and we also plan to take legal action in relation to the content [of the video],” their statement read.
The celebrity couple worked together in the 2018 film “The Negotiation” and the hit K-drama “Crash Landing on You,” before they were eventually confirmed to be in a relationship on New Year’s Day of 2021.
Hyun Bin and Ye-jin ultimately tied the knot in March, 2022, and welcomed their baby boy eight months later. The actress showed a glimpse of their son a month later, although she didn’t disclose the name of their child. EDV
