Bianca Umali revealed that the 2019 confrontation incident with her boyfriend Ruru Madrid at a parking lot indeed happened and was rooted in jealousy, but she noted that the stories about it on social media were “exaggerated at some point.”

It can be recalled that in 2019, Umali and Madrid reportedly had a quarrel after the premiere night of the latter’s film with actress Jasmin Curtis-Smith, “Cara x Jagger.” Umali was said to have gotten jealous of Curtis-Smith and had waited for Madrid at the mall parking lot to confront him.

The confrontation allegedly ended up with Umali pushing the actor away from her then driving away in haste, almost running over Madrid.

The actress spoke up about this during her interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda for his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, March 7. In the said episode, Umali admitted that she is “selosa” (jealous partner), leading the TV host to confirm whether the reports about the 2019 incident were true.

“To clear things out, there was an incident pero ‘yung lahat po na lumabas na storya na nababasa niyo—to the point na muntik ko nang masagasaan—it was exaggerated at some point,” she clarified. “I did not talk about it anymore because I don’t see the point of clearing the story ng side ko sa lahat ng tao.”

(To clear things out, there was an incident, but the stories you read about it—to the point that I supposedly almost ran over him—it was exaggerated at some point. I did not talk about it anymore because I don’t see the point of clearing my side of the story to the public.)

“Selos ‘yon? (Was that out of jealousy?)” Abunda asked, to which she replied, “Merong history. May pinanggagalingan.” (There was a history. There was a reason.)

Umali then stressed that she only gets jealous over reasonable basis, adding that her intuitions “have been right all the time.” She also pointed out that she knows Madrid very well and that she is aware whenever he is lying.

“I think kaya ko nasasabi na selosa ako especially when it comes to my relationships is because gano’n po ako ka-grabe magmahal that I am territorial,” she said. (I think I consider myself a jealous person, especially when it comes to my relationships, because I love deeply [to the point] that I am territorial.)

Umali also revealed that they broke up after the confrontation incident and only got back together after eight months. During the time they were not together, Umalis said they still kept in touch because they really loved each other.

“We were in touch, but Ru did everything that he could to save the relationship as well, and to win me back. And I did so much work also to forgive and to say that, ‘OK, let’s start again because I love you,'” she told Abunda.

When asked how she affirms Madrid’s faithfulness to her, Umali said that they communicate and that they have a sense of commitment to each other. During the interview, she also declared that she sees Madrid as “the one” for her.
