Chito Miranda gets Francis Magalona’s ‘Bagsakan’ polo shirt for auction

After successfully auctioning off his white “Bagsakan” polo shirt, Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda is now selling off the same shirt used by the late Francis Magalona in order to raise more funds for ailing his best friend and bandmate, Gab Chee Kee.
The Parokya guitarist, who has been at the intensive care unit for some time, is set to be released from the hospital after undergoing surgery to treat his lymphoma.
Magalona and another rapper, Gloc-9, were part of a music video called “Bagsakan” which was conceptualized and released by Parokya ni Edgar in 2009.
Miranda and his band have been actively finding ways to help defray Chee Kee’s medical expenses, such as auctioning off memorabilia and doing benefit concerts.
“Tingnan nyo kung ano yung nahanap namin. Yung polo ni Sir Kiko sa ‘Bagsakan,’” Miranda said in his Instagram post on Wednesday night, showing a screenshot of Magalona’s white shirt with his name, similar to the one that he sold a few weeks ago. Just like his own shirt, which fetched some P110,000, Magalona’s shirt also bore the design of three stars and a sun in the pocket.
Miranda likewise shared his conversation with the Master Rapper’s daughter, Saab Magalona, Francis’ daughter.
He said that he has lost hope that the white polo of Magalona would still be found.
“Honestly, di na ko umaasa na mahahanap pa namin yung pangatlong polo… pero nagbaka-sakali ako, at nag-message ako kay Saab Magalona,” he said. (Honestly, I was not hoping that the third polo would be found… but I took chances and I messaged Saab Magalona.)
But as luck would have it, the Magalonas found the late musician’s white “Bagsakan” shirt.
“After a few days, she sent me this photo… nahanap nila yung polo and pumayag si Ma’am Pia (Magalona, Francis’ widow) na ipa-auction yung polo ni Sir Kiko for Gab!!!” Miranda said. (They found the polo and Ma’am Pia agreed to auction off Sir Kiko’s polo for Gab).
Aside from his shirt, Miranda also sold off two monkey puppets that were used in Parokya’s used in ‘Halina sa Parokya’ album cover for the price of P35,000. EDV
