‘God is indeed good!’: Parokya ni Edgar’s Gab Chee Kee to be discharged from hospital soon

Parokya ni Edgar guitarist Gab Chee Kee has been recovering well from complications caused by lymphoma and will soon be discharged from the hospital, his bandmates disclosed.
Chee Kee was all smiles after he was transferred from a progressive room to a regular room at the hospital he was admitted to, as seen in videos and photos shared on the band’s Facebook page last Sunday, Feb. 26.
“FACE REVEAL!” the caption read. “Dahil sa tulong, dasal, at good vibes niyo, eto si Gab ngayon!” (Because of your help, prayers and good vibes, here’s Gab now!)
“Happy siya dahil nakalipat na siya sa regular room! Isa-isa na tinatanggal yung mga tubes na nakakabit sa katawan niya,” it added. “Excited parang bata, nag-gigitara habang papunta sa regular room! Konti na lang at makakalabas na rin siya ng hospital!”
(He is happy because he has been transferred to a regular room! The tubes attached to his body are being removed one by one. Excited like a child, he played the guitar while being transferred to a regular room! Just a little bit more time and he will be discharged from the hospital!)
The band noted that although Chee Kee will be out of the hospital, he will continue his medications for lymphoma, a kind of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system.
“May cancer pa rin siya, so tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang laban para makasama na namin siya on the stage soon!” it said. “Laban pa Gab! Kayang-kaya yan!” (He still has cancer, so his fight will still continue so that he can join us on stage soon! Keep fighting, Gab! You can do this!)
“God is indeed good!” the band declared.
Aside from fans, Chee Kee, who underwent surgery for his condition, received help from fellow musicians including Eraserheads, Ebe Dancel, Moira Dela Torre, Gloc-9, Shanti Dope, Flow G, and bands Kamikazee, Gracenote, December Avenue and Typecast, who each initiated fundraising efforts for the Parokya ni Edgar guitarist. /ra
