Sandara Park confirms she’s working on a solo album

Fans of Sandara Park can expect new music from the K-pop veteran soon as she revealed that she’s currently working on an upcoming solo album.
Park dropped some hints on her new music on her personal Twitter account on Tuesday, Feb. 28, although her agency Abyss Company has yet to confirm the details of its release.
“I will give [a] big spoiler!!! The concept of my album will be ‘Sandara Park,’” she said. “But it’s still too early to talk about it [because] it’s still winter in Korea [emojis] spring is coming and then summer will be after spring. But I can’t stop talking [about] my album with you guys.”

The K-pop idol even treated her fans to a mini question-and-answer on social media, as she shared what fans can expect from the album including the concept and type of songs that she would release.
“All of the songs are good, and it seems like my wish is that the title song and the b-side songs follow a particular order for a long time,” she said, in response to one @ohmygoddessDARA. “That’s my wish.”

The 2NE1 member also hinted that the concept of her album would be “crazy and beautiful,” and she’s hoping to “always dress sexy” during promotions.
“Crazy and Beautiful hairstyles all the time,” she replied to another @QueenDarong.
“I don’t have any sexy songs for this album, but!!! I can always dress sexy when I want to,” she told one @NURUL_DARALING.

Since she hinted that her album will be released during South Korea’s summer season, she said that fans can expect the music to have “tropical vibes” that reminds them of K-pop boy group Winner. Summer in South Korea happens between June and August, so the release will probably fall sometime within these months.
“But different tropical vibes with [W]inner babies. They [have] this tropical vibe that I love!!! Like [the song] ‘Island’! But [I’ll] do it Sandara style hehe,” she said.

Dara started her entertainment career in the Philippines as a contestant of the talent show “Star Circle Quest” in 2004, where she ended as a runner-up. She went on to release the album “Sandara” which includes the hit songs “In or Out” and “Walang Sabit” and appeared in several films until 2007.
She went on to debut as a member of the K-pop girl group in 2NE1 in May 2009 with bandmates CL, Bom, and Minzy. The “Fire,” “I Don’t Care,” and “I’m The Best” hitmakers disbanded in November 2016 after seven years.
After Dara’s contract with YG Entertainment expired in May 2021, she joined Abyss in September of the same year. EDV
