Joaquin Domagoso not in a hurry to marry partner Raffa Castro
Joaquin Domagoso opened up about his plans of marrying his partner Raffa Castro, saying they are not sold on the idea of rushing into marriage just because they have a child together.
The young actor spoke about this and revealed that it was his mom Dynee who initially told him and Castro not to rush their wedding, in an interview Joaquin had for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Joaquin then noted that he and Castro agreed to this and that the decision was “consensual” on both parties.
“Consensual because we’re smart. We’re a new generation and nakakaisip na po kami na hindi lang po dahil may anak na [kami] ay magpapakasal na [kami] (and we [think] we should not get married just because we already have a child),” Joaquin said.
“You have to really fall in love with each other, you really have to get that marriage there [because]… you’re not supposed to force it,” he added. “Sa akin po, papunta na kami do’n kasi do’n na ‘yung buhay ko. Ako, I want a family.” (For me, we will get there because [I] already see my life there. I want a family.)
Domagoso then clarified that he and Castro are in love with each other, and that what he meant was to fall in love with the commitment of marriage and “what it really is.”

Kawawa naman siya if the reason why pinakasalan ko siya is dahil lang may anak kami.”

The young actor then admitted that he was initially very scared that Castro’s unexpected pregnancy would derail his career in show business. He said his worries eventually vanished because of the support he received from his fans and his family, particularly his dad, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
During the interview, Joaquin and Abunda also touched on the topic of politics and the recent 2022 elections. Joaquin got emotional as he confessed that he was hurt over his fellow celebrities’ “discrediting” remarks on Moreno, who ran for the presidential post.
Joaquin noted that the previous election taught him that “everybody has an opinion” and that everyone should respect it. He also admitted that he’s happy now that the elections are done and “everyone is breathing again.”
When asked if he would enter politics, Joaquin replied, “Magno-no ako now… Mag-aaral muna po ako ng politics.” (I would say no now. I will study politics first.)
Joaquin confirmed in December last year that he and Castro already have a child together, several months after speculations about it first arose. He revealed that their child, who they named Scott Angelo, was already 8 months old at the time. /ra
