Jinkee Pacquiao belied rumors that her marriage with Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is on the rocks by showing a recent photo of them being cozy with each other.
Jinkee spoke about this after their family friend, talent manager Annabelle Rama, addressed the “Marites” who spread such rumors through a post on the latter’s Instagram page on Monday, Jan. 30. “Marites,” apparently a shortened version of the expression “Mare, ano ang latest?” (Friend, what’s the latest?), is a slang term used for a person who consistently gossips about other people.
“Tigilan niyo na ang pag-imbento ng kwento tungkol kay Jinkee na nag-file ng annulment, at kawawa naman dahil buntis. I just want to clarify sa lahat ng nag-text at tawag sa akin kung totoo ang chismis — no, it’s fake news,” Rama said. “Unang-una, sa nakikita ko [ay] imposibleng maghiwalay ang mag-asawa dahil [ang] sweet nila and happy family.”
(Stop making up stories about Jinkee—that she filed for annulment and that she’s pitiful because she’s pregnant. I just want to clarify to those who texted and called me to ask if the rumors were true — no, it’s fake news. First of all, as I see it, it’s impossible for the couple to break up because they are sweet to each other, and their [family is happy].)
Rama also advised the gossipmongers to stop these rumors, saying Jinkee and Manny are currently busy with the construction of their three-hectare dream house.
Jinkee then responded to Rama via the comments section and said, “Hayaan mo na sila (Let them be). God bless them!”
Through her Instagram Stories, Jinkee showed herself boxing and quipped that she dedicates her training to the “Marites” hounding her and Manny. She also shared a photo of herself with Pacquiao, taken on Tuesday, Jan. 31, in General Santos City.
Meanwhile, Jinkee earlier gave more sneak peeks at their new house through a series of posts on her Instagram page.
Jinkee and Manny have been married for 23 years. They have five children together, namely Emmanuel, Michael, Mary Divine, Queen Elizabeth and Israel. /ra
