Phoebe Dynevor, best known for her role as Daphne Bridgerton, will not be included in the third season of the popular historical series, “Bridgerton”.
Dynevor revealed in an exclusive interview with entertainment website Screen Rant on Sunday, Jan. 29 that she will be exiting the cast of “Bridgerton” ahead of its third season.
“Sadly, [there will be no exciting dynamics] in season 3. Potentially in the future. But season 3, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer,” she said.
In another exclusive interview with American entertainment outlet Variety on Monday, Jan. 30, Dynevor said she had “done what I wanted to do” with her character Daphne Bridgerton.
“Well, I did my two seasons. I’ve done what I wanted to do with that character and she had a great arc. If they ask me back in the future, who knows,” she said in the report.
Dynevor gained widespread popularity after starring as Daphne, the fourth Bridgerton child in the hit series. The first season is based on the novel “The Duke and I”, which tells the story of Daphne who falls in love with Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).
The English actress returned on Bridgerton’s second season, who helped her older brother, viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), come clean about his feelings for Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Set in the Regency era, Bridgerton is based on a novel series of the same name which revolves around the respective love stories of the eponymous Bridgerton family members, as well as its frequent scandalous newsletters from the mysterious Lady Whistledown.
The third season will reportedly focus on the romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicole Coughlan), although its premiere date is yet to be announced. EDV
