WATCH: Lovi Poe begins filming for ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ with Coco Martin
Lovi Poe was ecstatic as she marked her first day of filming for the ABS-CBN series adaptation of Fernando Poe Jr.’s “Batang Quiapo,” where she will star alongside actor Coco Martin.
The actress treated fans to her behind-the-scenes moments with Martin through a video shown on her Instagram page on Thursday, Jan. 25. The actors were seen playing a pool game, which Lovi learned with the help of Martin.
“First day high. Unang araw po ng taping namin magkasama ni [Coco Martin]!” she captioned her post. (First day high. This is the first day of Coco Martin and me together on the film set.)

Martin also showed a video from the filming where the two of them can be seen discussing with the production team, via his Instagram page too.

The actors’ first look portraying their “Batang Quiapo” roles then earned positive reactions from netizens who are looking forward to watching the TV series.
Martin began filming the TV series during the Black Nazarene feast last Jan. 9, a month after the project was announced to the public. Joining Martin and Lovi in the cast are Charo Santos, Christopher de Leon, Cherry Pie Picache, Lito Lapid, John Estrada and Pen Medina, among others.
The series, which is meant to commemorate FPJ’s 18th death anniversary, is based on the 1986 movie starring FPJ. /ra
