“Ipanumpa Ko,” a Visayan hit song by country-pop band Oh! Caraga, has been gaining more streams and topping city musical charts with its festival remix by Davaoeño artist XYNTHESIZE.

Prior to its release last Jan. 10 during the Sinulog Festival week, the song’s remix version had already been commissioned as the anthem for the first Vispop Music Festival held in Cebu, as per a release from the Sora Music Group, a sub-label of Warner Music Philippines, on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

It then went high up on city charts of musical streaming platform Spotify’s Local Pulse, peaking at No. 2 spot in Cebu, No. 3 in Cagayan de Oro and No. 4 in Davao.

The original song, written by band members Kenneth Corvera, Adam Corvera and Sherwin Fugoso, is about a “higher kind of love—a person that transcends boundaries, changes and upheaves societies, and tests one’s dedication.”

“Ipanumpa Ko” had already been featured in the radio station Wish 107.5 in 2019, and was also one of the finalists in the International Songwriting Competition in the World Category back in 2020.  /ra
