Bela Padilla, Marco Gumabao cast in PH adaptation of Korean film ‘Spellbound’ starring Son Ye-jin
Bela Padilla and Marco Gumabao have paired up for the first time in the upcoming film “Spellbound,” an adaptation of the popular 2011 South Korean romantic comedy starring Son Ye-jin.
Local production company Viva Films unveiled the poster for the film, which will be released in theaters on February 1, on its official Instagram page on Saturday, Jan. 14.
“Buhayin ang patay na puso ngayong Pebrero! This Love Month comes the Filipino adaptation of the blockbuster South Korean HIT movie ‘SPELLBOUND,’” Viva Films’s caption read.

Padilla also took to her personal Instagram account on he same day to reveal that the film was “three years in the making”.
Aside from Padilla and Gumabao, “Spellbound” also stars Rhen Escaño, Cindy Miranda, Benj Manalo, Ronnie Liang, and Moi Bien. The film is directed by Jalz Zarate, and is done in collaboration with Viva Films and Korean media company CJ Entertainment & Media.
The original movie, also known as “My Girlfriend Can See Ghosts,” stars “Crash Landing on You” actress Son Ye-jin, Lee Min-ki, Park Cheol-min, and Hwang Seung-on, and had ranked as the seventh top-grossing Korean film of 2011. EDV
